The Journal of SHNU was first established in 1958. It is a comprehensive academic journal in philosophy and social sciences, jointly sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and hosted by Shanghai Normal University, issued biannually. The journal is a core publication in comprehensive humanities and social sciences in China, a source journal for the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI), a core journal in Chinese humanities and social sciences, a core journal for social science newspapers in China, an outstanding journal in East China, a high-quality social science journal among universities nationwide, and a renowned social science journal in Chinese higher education institutions. 延伸阅读
The "Artificial Intelligence and Human Society" column was officially launched in the first issue of 2018, making it the earliest and only academic journal in China to regularly feature such a section. Over the past eight years, it has maintained a consistent publication schedule, releasing 2-3 papers per issue, with a cumulative total of over 100 published articles. Covering cutting-edge topics such as humanoid robots, edge-side large models, and multimodal general artificial intelligence, as well as the impact of AI on employment, public policy, and social ethics, the column explores these issues from technical, legal, economic, and ethical perspectives, staying closely aligned with industry developments. As of January 2026, the column has been reprinted in secondary literature sources including Xinhua Digest, Renmin University Reproduction of Periodical Materials, Chinese Social Sciences Digest, and Digest of Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Papers in Higher Education Institutions, totaling 70 reprint instances, with a reprint rate of 63.6%.
